Light the Night: A Community That Truly Shined
In loving memory of Miriam Bromberg z״l

Light the Night was more than an event. It was a moment when generosity, compassion, and community came together and transformed a winter evening into something truly unforgettable.
Over 100 incredible volunteers showed up with care, busy hands, and the biggest smiles. People of all ages gathered with a shared purpose: to give back to the community and to be there for one another. What unfolded was powerful, meaningful, and deeply inspiring.
Feeding Our Neighbors Through Hersh’s Fridge
Thanks to the dedication and teamwork of our volunteers, Hersh’s Fridge was filled with nourishing meals:
-
66 personal lasagnas
-
140 sandwiches
Each meal represents dignity, warmth, and the reassurance that someone cares. These meals helped neighbors facing food insecurity feel supported during a season when needs are often greatest.

Keeping Families Warm Through the RCC
Volunteers brought in a mountain of winter gear for the Rohingya Cultural Center:
-
Coats and warm clothing
-
Boots
-
Hats, gloves, scarves, and winter accessories
Every item collected will help families stay warm and safe during the cold months ahead. Seeing the piles grow throughout the night was a powerful reminder of what happens when a community comes together with intention.

Honoring Our First Responders
Light the Night also gave us the opportunity to say thank you to those who never stop showing up. We prepared and delivered 24 gift bags to first responders working the Christmas Eve shift, each filled with:
-
Coffee, cocoa, and tea
-
Homemade cookies
-
Heartfelt notes of gratitude
It was a small gesture, but one given with deep appreciation for those who serve our community when others are home with loved ones.

Light the Night is about more than the numbers, the meals, or the donations. It was about community togetherness. It was about a community choosing kindness.
Light the Night was a true kiddush Hashem- building bridges, fostering understanding, and showing what it means to show up for one another with compassion and respect.
Thank you to every volunteer, organizer, and supporter. Light the Night shined so brightly because of everyone who joined and helped. Together, we turned one winter night into something that will warm hearts long after the season ends.
May we continue to carry this light forward - one act of kindness at a time.
